The 2 studios were finished. These floors had to be done all in one day. So miguel apparently stayed until approx 7pm because he had to wait for the cement to dry little by little and at each drying stage used a different polishing machine for the cement.

the finished workshop. there's still water on it so that it doesn't crack. Luis told me today that the floor was going to have to be cut. they cut the cement so that the floor doesn't crack later. I asked if it would be bad if we didn't cut it and he said bigger cracks will come out. he said it will crack regardless of what you do. but the cracks will be smaller if you cut them. so i said ok. and he said they will cut the floor into 6 squares....sigh...but i think they will put in a resin on top...i think.

Here's the kitchen ready for the polishing machine.

Ready to go.

Here's the small polishing machine. since it was here after the floor was done, I assume that it's the final machine that is responsible for the smooth slippery finish.

This is the guest house progress. They were waterproofing the foundation with a layer of PVC. Jose's team is very organized and neat and tidy. They were gluing the PVC down to the floor so that it doesn't flap around and the dirt doesn't go under the pvc. The only questionable thing on this land was the rock that was in the way of the foundation. I asked them what they were going to do and they said they are waiting on Jose the architect to decide.
What happened was that Jose the architect was ill and couldn't get to the site. but Jose the contractor needed to continue work and couldn't just sit around to wait. So since he began preparing for the foundation, He built it around the rock and waited to hear from Jose the architect. Finally, he saw it and said, the rock needs to be removed. but since the foundation blocks were already in, the tractor couldn't fit in the spot where it needs to be to chisel the rock out. In the end they said they would find a way to get the rock out and not to worry.
