The floors were finally filled today. It's polished cement in both studios.

They let me dump the cement too. It was easy but heavy.

In order to keep it level, The guys take a string, hold each ends at a 1m mark on the wall and then Miguel (the polished cement guy) measures down on meter and then levels the cement in that area. And then this big ruler levels off the big section.

then they let the cement harden a bit. When it's hard enough to stand on, they use this big funny looking fan. The blades at the bottom spin quite slowly around and smooth the cement down. all this happens while Miguel throws water on so that that the cement stays smooth and doesn't crack off in chunks.

You can see what the machine is doing better at this angle.

There are 3 machines. I only saw the first one at work. i figure each one is like a finer grade. I think they used the smallest one for the last stage to make it the smoothest.

This is the main bathroom in the home. Can you tell the difference? do you like it better? I do.

This is another angle of the same bathroom. Luis does about one bathroom a day.

Guest house progress.
