Last day

So the second last day of work ended up being the last day of work. They finished the little bit and then left early.
Now I'm working hard on researching tiles and wood for the finishing. floors and bathroom tiles.
After talking to so many people and hearing their preferences, I've finally found something that makes me comfortable even when people tell me they don't like it.

The original plan was to use subway tiles to make the place look cute and fun.
This was the original selection. a slate floor with either white, cream or grey subway tiles.

I also thought blue might work but it was too blue.

This is what the wall would have looked like. but a bit busier because the tiles here had long ones and short ones. I would have only got the short ones. The idea was to have black floor and white tiles with a long shelf of green plants. but I couldn't see my parents using the bathroom and feeling at home in it because it's not quite their style.

So a wise friend suggested I keep the bathrooms timeless. So the next time i walked into the store I heard these tiles calling my name.
The huge grey tiles I love. but I think they're a bit too big for the bathroom floor so we're going with one size down. 30x60 cm.
The walls will be the lightest cream. This is matte and i know it might turn into a hassle for cleaning but....I"m going to take my chances.

Then, I looked down and saw the black....oooooo, it's a debate between black and grey. but since the grey caught my attention first, i think i'll stick with the grey.

All that was only for the bathrooms on the ground floor. I wanted something special upstairs in my master bath.
I had a huge crush on these 3 white decorative tiles but they are really expensive. We're talking close to 200Euros per square meter for the tiles on the right and the tiny one on the top. The bigger one on the bottom is about 40 Euros per square meter. but in the end, it's going to be a real pain in the ass to clean....so i think i'm going to resort back to the same tiles as the bathrooms on the ground floor

With the nice rocks it could look like this.

but in the end, it would still be too much to clean. because the ones that i chose was white.
Or, I could use hexagon tiles!!! since I'm not using ceramic wood flooring in the bathroom....I might be able to get away with a cool wall with hexagonal tiles like the ones below. I'm thinking the black tiles....only if they match the black/grey tile on the floor.

With hexagons, it could look like this.

But i think instead of having the small square tiles, I will put in the matte light grey tiles on the wall and then the black ones on the floor. If i really want the hexagonal tiles I could put them on the west wall with the window. but i'm not sure. Still...it's the only thing holding me back from making the big order.
