Day 71: Quiet as a mouse

Today I arrived and they were all quiet as mice. Luis because he lost his voice (due to cold) Esteban because he was sick too and Guzman I dunno. he was all alone on the second floor?

Speaking of mice, I saw a little field mouse in the living room. he must be eating all the food that the guys throw around when they're having their sandwich break....(I think I should empty the garbage for them (The garbage was the box that I used to give them their present a few weeks ago)

Anyway, here's what they were doing...

They started the bathroom wall in the dance studio.

They drew out the stairs. I finally thought of how I want the stairs to be. They will be shaped like large pebbles. The side steps will be evenly round but the main entrance will be shaped asymmetrically.

These are the stairs. ready for the cement tomorrow. They knocked in the bricks on the side so that the cement would trickle in and secure itself to the wall.

They took off the covers of the pillars today. I helped them clean up a little bit (like only 15 minutes)

Here's the bathroom window. Sometimes I feel funny talking to the guys about my bathroom. They asked why I wanted a window there and why so low and when I answered to see out when I'm in the bathtub... they didn't answer. No 'Ohhh, ok, that'll be nice' ...there was literally silence. ha haa. OMG! anyway, discussing personal things like how much time I plan to spend in my bathroom and having a shower outside and the door from the bathroom to the terrace. The walk in closet area. It was different when they were building downstairs. Upstairs is my bedroom and bathroom and sometimes i have a little feeling of guilt that 3 guys are helping me to build my bedroom and bathroom and they will make it however I want them to. I feel like those little 7 yr old kuwaiti kids who get a hummer for their birthday and they get to design the car exactly how they want it. In the end I know it's just a building. But still...I feel like theres a spotlight on me that makes me feel a little uncomfortable. Anyway, These guys are great! I'm glad they are the ones doing my bedroom and not someone else who makes me feel uncomfortable.

I don't know if you can see it clearly but the blue lined is where the staircase will be. There will be a level platform 1/2 way up.

This is Estban doing the wall dividing the front entrance from the back entrance/pantry.

This is the wall finished.
