Day 51: And the sky became dark

They filled in the roof with the cement blocks and these special beam things. You can't see anything from the outside. But when you look up close you'll get a better idea.

The wooden beams with the supporting posts were put in last week. The steel trusses (i dunno what it's really called) planted in the cement are the mini beams that will hold the funny shaped blocks in place.

Los chicos han hecho un montón de trabajo en solo una mañana. Llego los vigas (no se como se llama estos palos hecho de hormigón y acero) y los han puesto con los bloques y todo. Seguramente, que no podría ayudar hoy.

The guys were cutting the steel rebars to size and tying them into place. (or at least that's what I think they were doing)

Once those small beams were in place, they put in the bricks. These bricks are actually hanging from their sides. The picture below doesn't show it well, but you'll notice the sides are a bit wider and then there's a tiny cut at the bottom. The little corner that sticks out rests on the cement beams.

From the bottom, it looks like this. Neat and tidy, and darker from how it was before. ;)

Ahora no se ve tanto el cielo en el salon. Ahora empieza a sentir como una casa. Pero como me gusta mas estar fuera abajo del sol...me cuesta un poco de quedarme abajo del techo.

​You can see the little crack in the ceiling... I'm not quite sure how they fill it. But I did see a few chopped blocks when I got to the top.

No se como van a cerar este hueco pero se que al final, todo quedara bien.

And here were the guys up top. They guys were weary of letting me go up there. But I did climb the ladder and pop my head over the edge. Guzman took the pictures for me.

This is as high as I got today. But even still, The views were gorgeous. (they're even nicer when you have polarised sunglasses on)

No subi mas que aqui...pero las vistas ya era super bonita.

The camera, unfortunately, did not have a polarised lens, nor was it able to capture the real view. We had a little discussion if you could see the water from there. Guzman said you can see the lighthouse in cotillo. So, if you can see the lighthouse, you can see the water...but I bet it's got to be a real clear day to see the sliver of water. Luis says I'd probably have to go to the roof of the 2nd floor (my bedroom) to see the water. I wonder if I just put a little pedestal on my terrace, if that will be enough to see it from there. Either way, the view is beautiful and the sunset....will be spectacular.

No se ve bien la vista desde la camera, pero es espectacular. Los chicos dice que se puede ver el faro de cotillo y si se puede ver el faro, seguro que puedes ver el agua....Luis dice que todavía tienes que subir hasta el techo de mi habitación (segunda nivel) pero, supongo que si pongo unas escaleras...or algo para subir solo un poco desde mi terraza, ya veremos el agua? Pues, da igual, la vista, preciosa! Y el puesto del sol seria espectacular!
