Day 45:Knocking out a doorway or two
- Rompiendo los bloques

The other day, I mentioned that they were going to cut the doors out between the workshop, studio and my wet room. But they never did. Today was the big day. The guys had no mercy. After seeing me in action for the entire week, the decided to give me the job of knocking down the blocks for the new doorways I requested. I think they gave me this job for their own entertainment. They had considerately cut out the outline of the doorway, showed me how to do it and then handed me the hammer and chisel.
Creo que how

Here's a demo of how to open up a doorway.
Luis me mostró como hacerlo y me empiezaba a trabajar....
There's a picture of me in action but Guzman has it. He's taken on the job of secondary photographer. Either that, or we're swapping jobs....not sure I've got the better end of the deal. Anyway, below you'll see the door I knocked out. The guys shovelled up the debris and brought it to the guest bedroom to use as filler to raise the floor.

And here's the finished product.
Aqui tenemos la puerta. wu huuu! Buena trabajo Eva!

Luis did this door. but in the end, I finished the bottom 2 rows of bricks while he carried the debris to the guest bedroom. (this doorway is looking from the wet room into the dance studio)

View of the above doorway on the other side. (from the dance studio)

Here's the debris dumped into the guest bedroom. They will level this a little and then fill it with Cement. Within the debris, Luis picked out chunks of cement and then started scolding the guys, I didn't quite understand but they must have done a shoddy job in something and they got into trouble.

In the meantime, Esteban was putting up the last of the blocks in the studio and workshops while Guzman brought the 30kg blocks up to him.

Luis is doing a great job overseeing the work. But later he also gets up and helps out despite his fear of heights.

Since Guzman was the runner, he had some spare time...and with that, he helped me with the shovelling and then cleaned the floor. Seeing someone sweep the entire workshop floor with a shovel was a first for me.

Here's the final product. I think that's it for the walls. Now it's just the roof that's missing. But I'm not sure. I am sure that there are no more blocks though...They used the last one today. I wonder when they will fill in the windows.

This is the wall separating the studio with the workshop bathroom. This picture was taken yesterday after the guys left so you can't see the doorway that I knocked out on the right of that wall this morning.

Dance studio

On a less serious note, Esteban wanted to paint his helmet too. So today I brought him my spray paint and today he went all out. sprayed on the heart and then started spraying all over his helmet and then sprayed Guzman's again! I kind of feel bad for Luis, he must feel like he's got 3 little children working with him.
