Day 43: Tidying up

Now that all the cement is poured and relatively dry, they started taking off the forms and tidying up. This video is pretty bad and blurry but you get a gist of how crazy the work is.

Everything went back to where it came from. The nails were even pulled out of the wood.

I got to help put everything away. I think they got a kick out of me picking up the big planks of wood. I also discovered the magic of the crowbar. Totally love this tool.

Here's all the columns and doorways revealed.

I got to put in the middle support.

Some of the columns and doorways ended up looking like this. The bumpy finish kind of looks like a granola bar. I asked if we should smooth it out with the mortar that we were using to fill the holes but they said they will put something else over it.

They put up a few extra supports just as a reinforcement in the long doorways.

Then the guys decided to dress me up with a tool belt and take pictures of me.

But then I started filling the tool belt with all the tools I found lying around and then no one was able to find the tools they needed...I hope I wasn't too much of a hinderance today.

Just before I left, I helped to fill some holes. I think I was a bit tired by then because I was having a bit of trouble and then when I got home I literally tripped and fell flat on my face! A lifetime first. The guys are going to have a good laugh when they see me tomorrow. I hope they still let me help out. They might begin to think I'm a hazard on the site...

Ciao for now...
