Day 42: Waterproofing
This morning I arrived ready to work! They had already painted the wall but I got to do the last coat.
While I painted, the guys put in the plastic lining and when I finished painting I helped to hammer it all in place. The big nails they put in to hold it in place. They were hard to hammer in straight so I took all the small nails and put them in-between the big nails.
no idea what's going on here....
After the plastic lining, it was "bocadillo time" the guys had their little sandwiches and a chat. and then they signed my new helmet ( i forgot to take a pic...tomorrow) Guzman liked my spray painted heart, so he decided to decorate his helmet too! ha haha.
Then the cement trucks arrived to fill the last of the columns and doorways.
Here's the video of them working again.
While the concrete trucks were waiting for the pouring, the guy from quality control came. He took the wet concrete from the truck and put them in these little containers. after day 7 and 28 of drying, he will test them to see how much pressure it takes to break them. Then after the first test (day 7) he will tell the guys if it's ok to do the roof with this concrete or not. They guy says that they can either do the test with wet concrete or dry. but this way is cheaper. if they do the dry test, they have to drill the concrete that's already in the house and then refill it. This way is much nicer!
