Day 29: 12 layered wall.

The residential area is built up to the top. Now, what's left is 5 more rows on the studio and workshop. Luis says the typical house has 11 rows of blocks. But this home has 12. Just one more block higher. But the Studios....are much much higher. (This will be great if we start doing group sessions of aerial yoga.

They've begun preparing to make the columns by putting in the wood frames. Actually, this is the only one they've done.

You can see here the inside of the column where the wood pannel is framing the column.

Here's a question: When Pedro came, he asked me what will happen with the steel fittings that are sticking out past the wall. So I asked Luis and he said it will be bent in a little but also, it's not really sticking out. The wall will come out another 5 cm or so. If you look at the bottom of the foundation, you can see that the cement comes out a bit further than where the blocks are placed. This is where the walls will end. So although the steel looks like it's sticking out, it's actually not.

Another question Pedro had was if the mortar that has fallen where the cement columns is going to be should be removed. I don't know. I forgot to ask Luis. But I'll ask him tomorrow and get back to you on that.
