Day 9: Compacting the ground

Today the entire plot for P2 was compacted. There was a huge rolling machine that did the compacting. They had finished it all in the morning. They are not transporting all the foundation materials to the site.

What a difference from last week eh? You can see in the corner beside the tractor, the wood for the foundation.

This is the entire plot

Here is an old pot they found on the site. I've found a whole bunch of little mounds of rocks.

It looks like someone had built little hives with the rocks. Jesus thinks it was for making fires. but there are so many. The majority of them are close to the mountain so they are still there. He's a picture of one of them.

Here is the boarder of the mountain.

This is a picture of the layers of soil and rock. There's not that much soil actually. and underneath, you can see (not in this picture because it's a bad pic) the lava rock. I'm thinking of washing all the soil off the top of the mountain to make a little rock path and also so that the thorns don't grow on them. Then I'll turn some of the 'pockets' of rock on the mountain into natural flower pots an grow little things like wild flowers. or some succulents. There are tinly little purple flowers that are really cute and they are growing on the mountain. also really pretty grass things...I don't know the name. I'll post a pic later.

This is on top of the north mountain. Jesus helped me weed it and we got rid of a lot of the plants. To keep them from growing back, I'm going to try vinegar.
