Day 8: Raising the Ground

Today they filled the land to raise it. They brought in soil/gravel and have leveled it. The ground is filled in well enough that we can now drive onto the plot with a normal car. I met Luis just as he was dropping off the wood (that i think is going to be for the forms for the cement)

These are some big rocks that they dug up and are going to try to save for the landscaping

Here are some more of the big rocks that we're saving. I have a feeling that this is the edge of the construction. I think if I want to work on a small section of landscaping, I could start here because they won't be touching this area. Speaking of landscaping, I started weeding the small mountain in the middle. I wasn't sure how to naturally prevent the weeds from coming back so I asked Pedro (a local permacutlure agriculture professer who lives in the south) and he suggested vinegar. Let's see if it works.
