Day 7: Measuring the ground level

Today I saw the tractor at work (instead of a camera, I had a rake in my hand and couldn't take a video). The man was moving all the bigger rocks to the side and fit the smaller rocks and soil in the areas that were lower. He also had this long stick and was measuring something....I didn't know how exactly he was able to make sure the land was level. but he got out of the tractor every once in a while to measure the ground and then continued moving the rocks around.
Here are pictures before he started working. The land is definately looking flatter.

Jesus came to see the land and helped me weed some of the vegitation on top of the little mountain in the middle of the plot. (I didn't have my camera at the time because I was busy raking) While we were raking, Jesus explained to me that I would need to do something to keep the weed from growing again. I'm not sure what kind of natural products there are ( I will google it) but then we were thinking of other ideas and what I'm thinking now is to wash the rock (or find an efficient way to remove the earth already on the rocks) and then expose the rocks so we can
see the natural lava rocks in their original form. As I'm writing this, I I just thought of another idea of selecting some small pockets in the rocks and filling them with little decorative plants like natural flowerpots in the rocks. Eventually, the mountain will have a little path to walk along and benches to sit and enjoy :)
